Sanctuary Golf Course at WestWorld provides a natural alternative to ordinary golf. The course’s 6,650-yard, par-71 eco-sensitive layout takes advantage of natural terrain and vegetation, and is the Arizona’s first Audubon International Institute Signature Status course and only the 17th golf course in the world to receive this coveted status. 		360° Tour

Sanctuary was built under the supervision and regulations of the Audubon International Institute primarily within the City of Scottsdale and Bureau of Reclamation storm water retention area, located next to WestWorld, the nationally recognized equestrian center and special events facility.
To attain the coveted certification as an Audubon Signature Property, the Audubon’s requirements were incorporated into the earliest design phases of the course development to manage issues such as wildlife habitat enhancement, water quality management and conservation, waste reduction and management and pest control.
“Sanctuary has done an excellent job of integrating the golf course with the environment,” said Miles Smart, Ph.D., director, Department of Environmental Planning, Audubon International Institute. “One feature the golf course has incorporated that is beneficial to the entire area is on-site re-charge wells that re-purify run-off water from the golf course and return it to the ground, replenishing the area’s natural water source.” Golf course architect, Randy Heckenkemper, designed Sanctuary to take advantage of the land’s natural topography and vegetation. The course features 80-acres of turf, 55 sand bunkers and one large water feature complete with two multi-tiered waterfalls.
