My personal commitment to McDowell Mountain Ranch is not limited just to real estate sales. After all, this is both my home as well as the focus of my business and I am determined to do everything that I can to make it the best community in North Scottsdale.
Among my other contributions to improving life at The Ranch was my participation in Scottsdale's city sponsored litter clean up program (Adopt-A-Road). For seven years, from 1999 to 2006, I formally “adopted” a large segment of Bell Road east of Thompson Peak Parkway and, with my staff, personally picked up trash along the roadway two to three times a month. I am also a member of the MMR Business Networking Group (BIZNET). The primary goal of this organization is to find a way to blend the efforts of the local business community with those of the residential sector to bring more value to The Ranch.
In addition, I have regularly sponsored teams or made direct contributions to such youth oriented sports programs as the McDowell Mountain Little League and various hockey, soccer and other sports programs. The photo to the left is of the T-ball Marlins, a team that I sponsored a few years ago and which, incredibly enough, made it to the playoffs and had a ball doing it!
Over the years, I’ve been a frequent sponsor of community events like the Ranch Harvest Festival, Springfest, etc. (the face painter in the photo shown at right was my contribution to a past Ranch Harvest Festival) and have suported many charity & fundraising efforts by providing free publicity in my newsletter.
Beyond that, I also regularly volunteer my husband, Peter, who has a Master's Degree in Urban Planning, to try to assist in the process of helping MMR evolve into both a "community" and an exciting place to live. In the past, he has been involved in such projects as the acquisition of the “Information Center” (now known as the McDowell Center) and in monitoring area development concerns.
